Late 18th Century Wooden Santos Saint Doll Joseph Mary Jesus Folk Art Shrine.
Great original carved Saint Mary articulating doll. This was found in the New England area and I believe this was made in the early 19th century. The arm moves and the hand is loose but still attaches. The face is made of metal and the rest of the piece is carved from one solid piece of wood. The growth rings at the bottom are very tight indicating this has been made of very old wood. The metal work is primitive to say the best so I would imagine this was made in the early 1800s.
